Tuesday – Friday
9:00AM to 12:30PM
The preschool and pre-K programs are taught together in our Mixed Age classroom (ages 3-4 years). This age range provides valuable opportunities for social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development at a variety of developmental levels. In addition, this setting allows children to explore multiple roles such as learner, teacher, and leader. The maximum number of 18 students in the classroom each day allows the teacher to provide a diverse curriculum rich with unique and developmentally appropriate goals for each child.
Older students have an additional “Pre-K Day” each Friday where they get to experience learning in a smaller group setting with same-age peers. Students are given opportunities to build on previous experiences and explore ideas for longer periods of time. Children in the pre-K class are encouraged to ask questions and explore their environment for answers and knowledge. The curriculum presents math, language, writing, and reading concepts in context with the child’s interests and developmental skills with a focus on kindergarten readiness.
