GPPS offers a two day program for 2-year-olds, a three day program for 3-year-olds, and a four day program for 4-year-olds. 

Youngsters – 2 year olds

Mondays and Fridays

9:00am to 11:30am

The Youngsters’ Program is your child’s first introduction to The Youngsters’ Program is your child’s first introduction to school. With a maximum of 10 children, this program provides opportunities for social interactions, singing, art exploration, increased vocabulary through ASL, exposure to print, gross motor and fine motor skills. 

Preschool – 3 year olds

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

9:00am to 12:30pm

The preschool and pre-K programs are taught together in our Mixed Age classroom (ages 3-4 years). This age range provides valuable opportunities for social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development at a variety of developmental levels. In addition, this setting allows children to explore multiple roles such as learner, teacher, and leader.  The maximum number of 18 students in the classroom each day allows the teacher to provide a diverse curriculum rich with unique and developmentally appropriate goals for each child.

Focus for younger students is on cognitive, social, and emotional growth.  Children are encouraged to identify and express their needs which builds social skills, independence, and confidence.  Students are provided opportunities for art exploration, fine and gross motor skills, language building, writing, and math games. 

Pre-Kindergarten – 4 year olds

Tuesday – Friday

9:00AM to 12:30PM

Older students have an additional “Pre-K Day” each Friday where they get to experience learning in a smaller group setting with same-age peers.  Students are given opportunities to build on previous experiences and explore ideas for longer periods of time. Children in the pre-K class are encouraged to ask questions and explore their environment for answers and knowledge.  The curriculum presents math, language, writing, and reading concepts in context with the child’s interests and developmental skills with a focus on kindergarten readiness.
